First let me say this is not an
auction. I felt the need to warn those that are purchasing a
VOOM receiver.
I would be very careful in
purchasing Voom Motorola 550 receivers.
Just because the seller states the receiver has the updated
firmware or states that the receiver is activated does not
mean it will receive OTA channels.
Ask to see a photo of the
screen showing the blank program guide at the bottom of the
screen, this means the Voom receiver is activated after the
WATCH button has been pushed. I would ask the
seller to add the photo to the eBay listing so that it's
documented that the seller states and shows it is a working
receiver before placing a bid.
Many receivers are being sold
as being activated and they may very well have been activated.
But the problem is when the Voom customer called and had the
subscription canceled due to the uping shutdown of Voom or the
customer moved and never had the receiver put back into the
Voom data stream, this canceling the receiver from being
active to being non-active and will not receive OTA channels.
Also if the recievers were connected to the dish antenna when
Voom sent the kill package then all receivers in the data
stream are dead, non-working receivers.
A de-activated Voom receiver
when you hit the WATCH button on the remote control you get a
big black square that says NOT
AUTHORIZED even though the receiver has the current
updated firmware HAL 7.37 and will scan and
lock onto local channels.
If the seller
refuses to obligate to your request then retract your bid. You
can retract your bid within 12 hours of the end of the
auction. THERE ARE VERY FEW VOOM RECEIVERS ON EBAY THAT WILL
RECEIVE OTA CHANNELS. ALL NEW VOOM RECEIVERS LISTED ON EBAY
WILL NOT RECEIVE OTA CHANNELS AS THEY CAN NOT BE ACTIVATED DUE
TO VOOM BEING OUT OF BUSINESS.
THE
SELLER: show the proof on your listings of the receiver
hooked up and showing the blank program guide at the bottom of
the screen. Educate yourself on what is an active working OTA
receiver from an non-working dead receiver. Next post the
photos of your receiver working and stop the BS that it has
the latest firmware and is activated. This crap means nothing.
The proof is in the photos.
The dreaded screen shot of my
non-working receiver that the sellers refuses to refund my
money.
Click on the link below to
see a perfect example of a auction where the seller realized
that the receiver would not receive OTA channels and closed
the auction... Scan all the way down past the photos and read
his or her last post before ending the auction.
AUCTION
I have
already been burned by a seller on eBay that sold me a
de-activated receiver but claims that the receiver works. The
seller will not refund my money or replace the receiver. Very
obvious the seller is misleading all eBay buyers with his or
her auctions. I have filed a claim with eBay as well as
PayPal. If you would like to know who the seller is that is
selling these bogus receivers please contact
me.
WOW, Can you
beleive this, the seller leaves me a negative feedback after
stealing my money for a non-active Voom Receiver.
